In situ X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy of Platinum Electrocatalysts

Platinum nanocatalysts have shown high performance in a wide variety of electrocatalytic reactions, making them the focus many studies. High quality characterization results are vital for proper understanding catalyst's structure and properties, allowing further discoveries to be made. X-ray absorption spectroscopy is powerful tool, permitting both local electronic properties determined sample interest. This can taken by collecting situ measurements, which offer unique advantage collected real-time while catalytic reaction taking place. review summarizes recent studies utilized characterize platinum nanocatalysts, highlighting important structural parameters under real conditions. Specific examples catalysts use oxygen reduction reaction, chlorine evolution carbon monoxide oxidation discussed detail. Future prospects work this field also highlighted discussed.
